Finn the Fox Finds a Friend

It was a beautiful sunny morning in Turtleville. The birds were singing, the butterflies were fluttering, and the forest was filled with laughter.

But beneath a big shady tree sat Finn the Fox, all by himself.

Nearby, some woodland animals were playing together. Finn watched them run, jump, and laugh.

He wanted to join them, but he wasn’t sure they would want him there.

“I wish I had someone to play with,” Finn whispered, lowering his head.

Not far away, Tilly the Purple Turtle was enjoying a walk with his friends Benny Bunny, Lila Squirrel, Ollie Owl, and little Sammy Snail.

Suddenly, Tilly stopped.

“Look over there,” he said. “That little fox looks lonely.”

“Maybe he needs a friend!” Benny said.

“Then why don’t we go say hello?” Lila suggested.

Ollie smiled. “Sometimes the smallest act of kindness can make the biggest difference.”

And Sammy added, “Even a little hello!”

Tilly slowly walked over to Finn, with his friends following close behind.

“Hi there! I’m Tilly. What’s your name?”

Finn looked up, surprised.

“I’m Finn,” he answered softly.

“Nice to meet you, Finn!” Tilly said. “Would you like to come play with us?”

Finn’s ears perked up.

“Really? You want me to play with you?”

“Of course!” Benny laughed. “There’s always room for one more friend!”

For the first time that morning, Finn smiled.

Soon, Finn was running through the forest with Benny, collecting colorful leaves with Lila, and listening to Ollie’s funny stories.

Even Sammy joined the fun, sliding along as fast as his little body could go.

Everyone laughed and cheered him on.

Finn couldn’t remember the last time he’d had so much fun.

“You know,” Finn said, “I was afraid nobody would want to be my friend.”

Tilly smiled.

“Sometimes making a friend starts with one little hello.”

As the sun began to set, the six friends gathered beneath their favorite big tree.

Finn looked around at their smiling faces.

“This morning, I felt like I didn’t belong anywhere,” he said. “But now I feel like I belong right here.”

“Because you do!” Tilly replied.

“And tomorrow,” Benny added, “we can play all over again!”

Finn’s fluffy tail wagged with happiness.

He had come to the forest hoping to find a friend.

And instead, he had found five.

The End. 💜
